Saas placement question

Hello, im going to start university next year and i applied for saas like every other Scottish student,one of the questions were if i will have to go placement in my course this year and i answer no,the thing is that my insurance choice tho have placement this year so if I dont get into my firm will i be able to change this when i change my course in saas or i will have to email saas to make them change it.
And incase my uni email me informing that i will have placement this year i would have to email saas to change it too right?
