Special Support Loan - Mature Student on UC

Why evidence do I need to send to get accepted for the special support loan? I am on UC with the Limited Capability Element but I am not on PIP. I have sent my original confirmation letter showing I am getting the Limited Capability payment but apparently they need something that proves I will be getting it when I start in September. I am a mature student, starting Uni in September, I am on UC with no savings. It is very unclear what will happen to my benefits when I start Uni, even UC cant tell me straight. So if I can get the extra help with the Special Support Loan it would be really handy. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi Angel,

That's correct. Your evidence needs to show your receipt of the benefits during the relevant academic year. So if you're able to get a letter from them that confirms this then the assessors can review and update your funding. Thanks, Jason
