You’ll need to know the functional group of an alcohol aswell as the different types like primary, secondary, and tertiary. You’ll need to be able to identify if a molecule is one of those 3 types of alcohols and what each of those terms mean. You can also be asked what they oxidise into for example:
Primary alcohols into aldehyde and then into carboxylic acids
Secondary alcohols into ketones
Tertiary alcohols don’t oxidise into anything
Lastly they can ask how you can differentiate between an aldehyde and a ketone which there’s 3 tests for that
(Sorry that seems long I’m trynna revise by blurting )

You’d just say a molecule containing the hydroxyl function group for the definition
Good luck today everyone! Come back and let us know how it went after the exam :hugs:

What was the answer for the accurate titration

I put having a dry conical flask. I wasn’t really sure but the other 3 I’ve been told to do so I assumed it was this one.

I'm pretty sure the answer was about using a dry conical flask or whatever container it was as that would relate to validity rather than accuracy. So C.

No the answer was 20%, you had to do 50% of 40% which is 20%

I don’t think so. The question gave tou the percentage of the first step and the overall percentage. Were we not finding thr percentage of thr second step? In past papers it was finding the overall percentage but I thought this was different
