redo those papers. its better to remember the MI and get an A than to not remember the MI and not get an A, if youve done most of them you should notice they tend to repeat or reuse questions just in a slightly different context or the exact same context so remembering the MI should still work out

I feel like I've really done everything I can, every paper back to 2012 including exemplar and specimen papers, and I feel like there is nothing more I can do.
Any advice anyone? I know it's tomorrow so I'm fine, but should I do anything else or not?

If you feel like you’ve done everything, try and take some time to relax so you can feel as rested and alert as possible before tomorrows exam :hugs: good luck and I hope you get a good nights sleep!

How are we all feeling? Personally, I think the content was pretty standard. It wasn't insanely hard but it wasn't completely easy either. Very much standard and if everyone felt the same way I did I can't see the grade boundaries moving very much. (Then again, I tend to be quite bad at gauging the difficulty of exams in general.)

I kept messing up one of the first calculation questions and getting a number I knew couldn't be right as I was putting it into my calculator incorrectly. That meant I flailed a little there. Once I'd figured it out I was alright - the rest of the paper went much more smoothly. It did mean I didn't have as much time for the open-ended questions as I would've liked though.

EDIT: Because I apparently can't even type my thoughts out correctly.

I think it went pretty well. I left the 2nd open ended until after the last questions, and by the end I was felt light-headed and I didn’t really understand it so I basically explained a titration and called it a day, so I reckon only 1 mark. Apart from that, was mostly good I think.

Paper 1 was wayyyy harder than paper 2 even this the difficulties level was at max. Bro the paper didnt made my hopes of an A vanish. I think it was hard cuz sqa is getting scrapped.

Reply 13

Was the 2nd open ended titration?

Nah honestly paper one was horrendous for me, like some of the questions where just nowhere near last years and the years before standard, second paper was a lot better imo there was still a few harder ones but the main both of it was alright. Suprised in the lack of stuff about soaps and the lack of questions involving them at all. Overall 100% the hardest paper the SQA has put out for chemistry in my opinion - in contrast with last year - and from the way my class - and probably urs - found it the past mark will probably stay the same or be lowered

Paper 1 was definitely harder, paper 2 the good questions were great but the hard questions.... Holy smokes they were hard, what was that second open ended question and that amino acid question idek how you could answer that. 🤞

Yeah no I got the same but managed to mess up the banana one at the start and didn’t have time to go back and change it 🤣
