Can i get all 9s in gcse

I’m currently in year 10 and these grades are based on what i got in yr9 and somewhat if what i got in year10 as we haven’t done may exams yet (we only js finished mocks)

I was just wondering what my chances are at getting mainly all 9s and 8s and if you know anyone who got lowish mock grades but needed up getting high grades.

Heres my current grades
English lang+lit 5
Maths 5
Chem 4
Biology 5
Physics 4
Foodtech 7
Geography 8
RS 6
Bearing in mind i’ve literally only done big tests so far in geography and foodtech- the rest are js like based of mini class tests aswell as year9 grades. Also lmk if you have any tips thanks x

believe it or not, your teachers will probably have a fair idea of what grade you're working out.
Saying that, if you work your socks off in the time left you can make a big difference

i think with hard work over the summer and christmas you can definitely improve your grades quite a bit by your year 11 mocks, maybe go up at least a couple of grades. and i'd say as a general rule that between year 11 mocks and gcses you go up a grade or two depending on how hard you work. it might be harder in subjects like chemistry (me too girl honestly) but i think with enough work you have a really good shot at straight 9s. believe in yourself!

Okay your mock grades are still good, the thing about mocks is that its not the real thing, try ask for your mock paper so you can identify key mistakes. Your still in year 10, and these grades were in year 9 so you could have an improvement. But overall there is still time yet, just keep revising (try not to burn yourself out) and yes hopefully you could achieve all 9s

It is worth remembering only 0.2% of students get straight 9s - 1270 in 2024

Here you go: 1270 out of 667340 = 0.2%. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/infographic-gcse-results-2024/infographics-for-gcse-results-2024-accessible

You shouldn’t be despondent about it though. This number represent less than half the first year intake at Oxford - meaning the large majority of successful applicants to top universities do not have straight 9s.
