Could anyone help me out with how to write a poem

It is a piece of English homework about to write about a poem on poetic devices and I am completely lost so could anyone help me out here

I hope you are well!

I am in my third year studying creative writing and one of my modules is poetry so I love writing poems. But sometimes it can be difficult to start, especially if you are struggling for inspiration.

If the poem has to be about poetic devices my advice would be to list the devices then write a few lines for each device, putting them together to make a poem.

In terms of subject matter, it could be a good idea to write about how you feel about writing poetry, how you feel about poems or how you think poetic devices help how a poem is read.
