Uni of Edinburgh nightlife!

Hi, can anyone please advise what the student nightlife is like for Uni of Edinburgh? Every student I asked on offer holder day said they didn't go out to bars or clubs?!
Do people go out alot?
Which bars and clubs are good student nights?
Is it more of a pub culture or are there nice bars a d clubs too?
What is the music scene? Is it dominated by a certain genre or is there a good variety? I like general chart and rnb.

Thanks so much! Loved everything else.

Oh and how cold does it actually get?!

Can't tell you about the actual university nightlife scene as never went to that university

I'm general Edinburgh as a city has plenty of club's, bar's and restaurants for you to explore. Plenty different places to go and have a good time out 😜. It's depends on where you are living as if you are in the reach of the city centre then you'll have the likes of places on North & South bridge, Nicolson street & fords road ( near the McEwan building of Edinburgh university) , royal mile, Rose Street has lots of pubs etc along the whole length as it runs from east end of Princess Street to the west end, Lothian road heading up to tollcross, in and around the top of Leith Street.

Yeah clubbing etc isn't for all student as some don't go out to places like that as instead stay in or maybe go for a meal.

Edinburgh is a major tourist city especially in August when the international military tattoo & fringe festivals are on throughout August, it's a all year round city for entertainment as they have big concerts at murrayfield stadium or perhaps the castle esplanade.

Well Edinburgh can be a cold city especially in winter time, you'll actually find it colder on the outskirts of the city rather than the city centre itself although still cold and some snow ❄️ ❄️ ❄️.

I'm a Edinburgh born resident and I'm use to the weather here as I stay on the boundary of the outskirts ( I look over onto the ski slope at hillend and it's colder there and can get deep snow as highest point of the city).

I went to Edinburgh Napier university.

Hope you will enjoy your time at Edinburgh university.

nightlife here isn’t terrible I’d say, some clubs that are popular among students include why not, subway and liquid rooms (there are more clubs as well). If u get involved in societies they’ll have socials and you easily meet people that enjoy clubbing and stuff
