resiting exams in law

im a first year law student in scotland and usually get average grades about 2.1 that are almost at a 1st but a couple modules ive scraped passes for the adsignments or ended up with 2.2 which ik isnt the best for law. i sat my first in person closed book exam for crim and it was great questions but i choked cause of my nerves and know i didnt do as well as i couldve. im so scared to resit the exam or get consistently barely passing grades, especially where everyone is getting higher grades because ik law is competitive and i really want to go into international but its hard enough without knowing any lawyers or people to help get up there. is it normal or okay not to do great your first year? im scared its going to impact my opportunity for postgraduates or employers or work experience because we're told our first 2 years count towards applying for the diploma. bit of a rant but was just wondering is all this normal?
