Will N5 resits be considered for med uni?

Hi everybody, help needed.

As this is my first post on this site, please forgive me if it's in the wrong section/room/whatever it's called. Soon I will be sitting my N5s, I've studied hard and I am confident in getting good results for all subjects, except English.

If I had to resit my English N5 next year, would that disqualify me for medicine? While it's clear my H and AH have to be in one sitting, It's not clear whether it is the same case for N5s.

I am studying abroad and have no one to consult, really worried about this. Thank you.

Hey James,
Best of luck with your exams- you sound like you’ve been working really hard already, and that’s the most important thing! (:

When it comes to course requirements, it really depends on the university you're applying to. Some are very strict about qualifications being achieved first time, others are more flexible. It should be listed clearly on the course entry requirements for each uni, so definitely worth checking their websites or even emailing admissions to double check if you’re unsure.

That being said, if you’re doing your best, that’s all you can do. Even if things don’t go exactly as planned, there are lots of different routes into medicine, so try to just focus on giving your exams your all for now and you can deal with any next steps later if you have to!

Best of luck!!! 😄
