I need help i dont know how i should study in my situation (A level Business)

I switched what i wanted to do for uni and started taking a fast tracked business a level in my gap year, after i finished my a levels. This means i have had less time and am behind on content but i have only business exams to worry about and loads of time to revise exclusively business (4-8 hours a day). It is online so i have a bit of a lack of structure and tutors are expensive. I do actually have alot of time to learn and revise content but the stress of being close to exams and lack of guidance means i feel i just don't know if what i am doing is effective.

I have my first exam in 2 weeks time which includes themes 1 and 4, the second a week after which icludes themes 2 and 3, and then the final one 2 weeks after that which is on the whole course.

I have finished theme 1, 2, and 4 ,but obviously i will need to revise them, but not much on theme 3 atall. I am good with essays and know and can learn the right structure but i need to know the content (Think if it was open book and i had the content i could write a great 20 marker)

What is my best course of action for revising?
Should i do papers, write notes on 3 content, something else or a mixture? And when should i do it?
Im struggling alot with knowing wether my revision is actually useful and wont screw me in the long run.
Any advice on revision from behind but having lots of time to do it. Are there people who have been in a similar position and done really well and if so what did you do?

I just want to get the best grade possible not a specific one so i don't need to know wether i am capped.

Hi @ewan09,

Absolutely—practice papers are one of the most effective ways to revise. While note-taking can be helpful for organising ideas, it's not the best method for memory retention. A good follow-up is the blurting technique: cover your notes, write down everything you can remember, then check what you missed and repeat until it sticks.

Q&A flashcards are another great option, especially for quick testing.

You might also want to try Seneca Learning—it’s a free revision site with interactive quizzes. They’ve got some A-Level Business courses, so it’s worth checking if your exam board is covered: https://app.senecalearning.com/courses?Price=Free&Subject=Business

Hope that helps, and best of luck with your revision! 🙂

I recently started using gizmo and I have my exams soon too. It’s the best for active recall and a few hours of going through the ai flashcards and active recall would be enough for you to have a good understanding of the topics.

I’d recommend just going through the key terms and making sure u have advantages and disadvantages of each one, you can access them from the edexcel website.

https://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/A%20Level/Business%20Studies/2015/teaching-and-learning-materials/theme-3-key-terms.pdf

Those are the key terms for theme 3 u can ask Ai to give you the advantages and disadvantages if you feel like you don’t have enough

For the final paper make sure you’ve seen the pre release letting you know it’s about the music topic. Tutor2u has these papers they’ve created which will assist you on the topic and give u practice on answering the music topic auestions. I’d say knowing the content and the terms is essential as u have to write the definition out for them and the rest of it is just linking to the question and justifying if it benefits or not. I have a lot of resources if you’re interested.
