English language speech THIS MONDAY???

my head of english has suddenly told us we have to do the english spoken endorsement starting this monday until friday. however, i have my spanish speaking exam this monday and am absolutely focusing on my written exams since they’re in 2 weeks.

i’ve been told some people did theirs in year 10, and at my school we were told about it in the summer of year 10 and this is the second time we have heard about it.

should i attempt to prepare for it or focus on my actual gcses? i’m aware it doesn’t affect my final english language grade.

Hey! I did mine in January. It must be annoying that yours has been left so close to other GCSEs. I think probably prepare a bit for it. Pick a topic you’re passionate about and then you can probably just ramble on off the top of your head, and then as long as you answer at least one question you should be fine. Maybe before you do it, give a classmate a question to ask you so that you know a response in advance. To be honest though, I wouldn’t stress about it that much. It’s meant to be quite easy to get a pass or merit. Good luck for all your exams!!!

i mean i didn't actually prepare for mine and it went really well. you don't need to write that much as i wrote just over a page but i think it's more about how you present it. and actually if you don't write as much you'll say it slower to fill up the time and one of the good things about that is not only does it make your speech clearer but you'll sound more confident. so i wouldn't worry too much, definitely focus on your gcses more.

It does not matter at all or affect anything, if you pm me, I can send you mine which I got a distinction for and you can just use it for inspiration or just as an idea!
