The Forge at Sheffield

Hi, I'm a first year student looking for accomodation at Sheffield for UoS. I'm not planning to go for Ranmoor and Endcliffe as prices have gone up this year and are out of budget. I visited The Forge today by homesforstudents and in my eyes the place was really nice and I'm planning to book my accom there. Before I do though, I just wanted to ask for honest reviews on the place as the reviews on Google are very mixed.

The location is convenient, with easy access to supermarkets, restaurants, and nightlife, particularly along eclessal road and london road. theres obviously the occasional party but if you keep yourself to yourself, then youlle be fine

Yes I did, I ended up picking to stay at The Forge! I visited there before I fully paid my rent and it seemed like a great place to live!

It's been good! It is a little odd as I'm surrounded by all SHU students but my flatmates are all lovely. They hold events here all the time with freebies which is good if you're around for them and the staff are very helpful. My heater broke at one point and they couldn't fix it without the electrician who couldn't come in at the time. In the meantime, they gave me a nice space heater and once the electrician was free, I got a very nice new one! It is a little far from the main part of UoS campus and doesn't have easy public transport to campus, but for me it works fine as I am mostly in the Diamond which is only 20 mins away. The location is good since it's near the Moor, ALDI and city centre, so I would highly recommend if you don't mind a bit of a walk to UoS!
