Speaking exam for spanish gcse

I was just wondering, what happens if you fail the speaking (aka get a U) but you get 7/8s on the writing, reading and listening? How will that impact your overall grade? And if it lowers is significantly, does that change if you get a 3 in the speaking? (this is for higher btw)

Each component is equally weighted as far as I know so a basic (mostly accurate) way to figure out a rough grade would be to add them all up and divide by 4. So if you got say 8s and 7s and a U you’d be looking at around a grade 5 or 6 depending on your exact marks and the grade boundaries. If you got 8s and 7s and a 3 then you’d be likely to get around a grade 6, again depending on marks and boundaries could vary a bit.

I did GCSE Spanish last year and one of the teachers let us choose the topic, she also gave us the question that she would potentially ask (there was like 50-60 different questions) what I did was kept all my answer simple and short but use the phrase that were not in syllabus (eg Spanish idioms) and teacher said I would get 9 in speaking, I did as well, jus be fluent when speaking and don't forget to add accents as well. Memories some answer and practice them as well, then U can prob mix n match, also if U miss to say a word or a phrase don't go back correcting yourself jus keep going on w answer and at end and some more different verbs or idioms, I used Astarspanish.com for revision and it has yt channel as well so it will give U some tips n trick, listening will be the hardest one tbh so be prepared for listening
