Hi,

Im a student considering Loughborough for Psychology and was wondering if there are statistic modules, as I cannot see them in the 'What you'll study' section.

Research Skills A (Year 1) and Research Skills B (Year 2) will have a significant statistics components, as will your final year project.

I assume they haven't used the word "statistics" within the description of those modules, to avoid scaring too many applicants.

Edited to add...

This is from module specification for 24PSA520 - Research Skills A:

"Indicative topics to be covered include (but are not limited to): Philosophy of science, scientific psychology and hypothesis testing; research design; sampling; methods of data collection (quantitative and qualitative); quantitative data analysis (e.g. parametric and non-parametric tests, one-sample t-test, paired sample t-test and correlation); qualitative data analysis (template analysis, thematic analysis); interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data and the presentation of research findings."

This is from module specification for 24PSB520 - Research Skills B:

"Indicative topics to be covered include (but are not limited to): the epistemological and theoretical foundations of quantitative and qualitative enquiry, ethics in psychological research, methods of data collection, quantitative data analysis including: multiple linear regression; ANOVA (1- way and 2-way); non-parametric alternatives to ANOVA), and qualitative data analysis including: narrative analysis; mixed methods research; data interpretation; reflexivity and writing up research findings."

So, clearly a lot of stats.
