Thatcher for the essay question - probably her downfall is our school's guess!

Reply 6

Anyone else do Y104?

Reply 7

Anyone else doing Y105 (Wars of the Roses)? Predictions? I feel like there's going to be an essay question on Richard III, since it hasn't come up since 2022.

For the sources, given that Marian religion has been a recurring topic for two years in a row, it’s less likely to be related to that or even Mary’s reign.

oh wow, to be honest it's not been too bad. I definitely prefer the 20 marker over the interpretation question though 😭. I've improved on the interpretation question but the only thing i'm struggling with is anaylsing provenance which is what's bringing my mark down. My teacher has given us points on what to say (like advocating for a specific political agenda, exaggerated e.t.c) but i'm not sure on how to improve?

Guys I'm so scared that I won't be able to understand any of the sources for the 30 marker because they're written in like old archaic English.

Who is the source coming from? Is it only 1 perspective? Is that perspective quite narrow?
Is the source limited to a certain physical location? E.g. a report about 1 workhouse in the midlands - it's not necessarily applicable to all workhouses unless the inspector has visited all of them, which is not usually information we are given.
Or look at source content to describe the source as limited: are there elements of the enquiry that the source doesn't include. E.g. an enquiry into workhouse conditions and the source talks about the quality of food but doesn't indicate the amount of food, or talks in detail about food but doesn't mention the cleanliness of the environment.
