should i drop physics?

so i'm in y12 rn and back in november i was doing very very badly in physics. like i got about 45% on one test. not good. understandably the teachers told me to drop it. however, i have now done a bunch of revision and did an as level past paper and 84%. can i keep it? will i get a decent predicted grade? as usual i cannot make life decisions and am asking the internet instead.
I will tag some members who are forum helpers or volunteers in physics forum who certainly give helpful replies for you, hopefully.

You've still got ages until A-levels so there's no immediate threat to your final grades.
I presume you're taking four A-levels if you were encouraged to drop one. Most unis for most courses will make offers only on three A-levels, so it's not necessary to take four.
But, if you think you're coping with all your A-levels now and you want to keep taking them I would suggest keep doing them, see how you cope with end of y12 mocks and depending on that have a think over the summer or at the beginning of y13 to decide whether you would have a stronger set of results if you dropped physics.

Maybe it was a super easy test, but being told to drop it early in the year from a test of 45% surprises me.
84% now is definitely the sort of score that makes it sound like you'd do well in the proper exams.

Hi there!

How many A-Levels do you take and what degrees/apprenticeships/careers are you thinking of doing? This will help you determine if you definitely need to keep it.

Secondly, that is amazing progress! You are only in year 12 and have plenty of time to revise and do even better in the proper exams.

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)

If you enjoy the subject, keep it! With consistent work, it’s definitely doable, so the only question that really matters is do you want to study it?
