Advanced highers

Do I need biology and chemistry at advanced higher if I do them at Higher?
I’m currently planning to do Physics, Maths And Art AH, with engineering science at Higher, but am reluctant to rule myself out of doing medicine.

You need at least chemistry at advanced higher (biology isn't needed surprisingly), as well as another science/maths (physics/ maths in your case). I would be careful with art, many medical schools don't accept art as an actual subject as it is seen as not academic, so do some research into this.
The minimum requirements are AH Chem, another stem AH and anything Higher or above that is academic (usually of your choice but again, things like photography, art, cake craft etc. are not optimal)

Thank you!
If I did chemistry it would be in place of engineering, so would still be 3 stem sciences at AH.Looks like that may be a better option.

Yes, that would work.
It would still be best to check the universities you intend to apply to, some have different requirements than others.
Best of luck!

Hey! I was under the impression that there were no required subjects for AH just that you got BB(B) in whatever you study. I just checked all the uni websites and none of them made reference to requiring chemistry at AH, only at higher. If you have received any information from universities suggesting otherwise please let me know! Of course though it would be very beneficial to take chemistry at AH as most people will have and it is relevant to the course of course! Additionally as far as I’m aware art is still considered a valid advanced higher, as I have emailed universities previously and enquired about this though of course I’d recommend for anyone considering it to ask the unis directly themselves to make sure this is still up to date

Didn't know this, I was pretty sure that they used to be the requirements, but I checked and they've changed!
Thanks for informing me.
