English language GCSEs

Hello. I’m retaking English language GCSE and I don’t know how to revise, please let me know what you did to get a good grade other than “just do practice papers” especially because I don’t really have anyone to mark it. Thank you.

I always found making plans for past paper questions useful, especially since I was pretty confident with actually writing but coming up with what to write was difficult. It's quicker than actually doing practice papers and you don't need someone to mark it, as it's mainly to help with developing the skills to understand a text and form an argument quicker and better.
Also, reading example essays and comparing to mine helped to see what was missing without needing it to be marked - I asked my teacher for past examples but you can find them online probably.
Hope this helps
