Not any serious ones, but my teacher loves to tell us that Education Policy is a guaranteed topic for Paper 1 Education and Theory and Methods as they LOVE education policy

yeah I've been told the same. I'm fairly sure they have asked everything by now so may be repeating certain topics?

I'm hoping something about boys and underachievement might come up, maybe ethnicity as a 30 marker or education not being meritocratic

I love to write about meritocracy in essays, I hope it comes up. I hope we don't get much on gender differences though, I'm pretty sure that's my weakest area. My teacher keeps saying we might get something on a perspective for the 30 marker, I don't think that'd be too bad.

Does anyone have a list of references or something of the sort for research methods? I find it quite difficult to come up with two for some of the really niche ones.

You’re okay!
I’m happy to draft some up if you’d like, however for research methods, sociologists aren’t really important to name!

As long as you follow the structure of P - practical E - ethical R - representative V - validity E - example R - reliable T - theoretical, the example isn’t desperately needed, as you’ll easily be able to bag majority of marks with the other points :smile:

There is no 'requirement' ('need') to continually reference 'socciologists' in research methods answers. It would be helpful, but not essential.

not a prediction, however i have made a google classroom for a level sociology where you are able to upload resources. I have uploaded some ao2 examples for all topics i am doing for sociology (education, family, beliefs and crime + reseaearched methods and MIC)

The 20 marker is definitely methods but the 10 marker can be method or theory on paper 1 and 3 🙂 Very annoying lol

Honestly I doubt certain Topics like marketisation will be asked (as it has been used very recently), or Marxism as it was asked last year. in terms of 30 marker questions It could range from Globalisation or ethnicity I think or maybe even something about education policy (hoping its not this lol).
I also checked the pattern with the theory and method questions at the end of the paper and they follow an order. however last year both theory and method was asked, yes they can do that, but I have a feeling it might be methods.
