Kcl mental health nursing or UoL nursing with leadership??

i’m torn between the two because for kings it may be more convenient as i live in london as it is russell groups but i don’t really care about all of that. i feel like it’s mostly international student that go there and wont see as many people of my ethnic group as much as if i go UoL which would be a 4 year course and i don’t really want to go broke with paying rent and everything.

The point I am making is that a uni decision should prioritise the course first as that is what you will be studying for three/four years. You have listed two different course with potentially different career outcomes - do you have a preference for which nursing field your degree will lead to?

they are both for mental health nursing but leicester just implements child nursing aswell but my career goal is to a mental health nurse in a private sector preferably with children hence jay i considered the leicester course however with the kings name i am able to get into the private sector quicker

Employers in the healthcare/medical field won't care where you studied your degree so choose the course which is best for you, not the institution's preceived 'reputation'.

I applied to kings for mental health nursing too. Personally I didn’t like the vibe from the interview process. It felt like a conveyer belt. A student nurse I met (on a placement from KCL) said that she doesn’t recommend going there as they are very disorganised, the administration is all over the place and they are very reluctant to give extra support to students who may need it (I also found that during my interview).

The 4 year course is quite unique and opens a lot of doors but I’ve heard it’s also very intense (I applied for a 4 year @ uwl also).

Follow your intuition and what feels right for you. At the end of the day, a degree is a degree and especially in nursing as all courses must follow the guidance of the NMC. Good luck! You got this ))
