Placement company reply

I had an interview for a placement company (pharmaceutical) and they said they would reply with the results on Monday 28th. It is now Tuesday 29th and I haven't got any emails from them, whether its good news or bad. I know its only a day later but I'm anxious about whether I got it or not because based on that I decide what will happen next, in both professional and personal life. What should I do/what does it mean if they haven't replied yet?

I am starting to assume Monday was for acceptance and Tuesday is for rejections lol.

Please give me some reassurance ahaha, thanks.

Hi Zehra,

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes emails from unfamiliar domains get filtered in there. If there's nothing there, then I would wait a couple more days and if you've still not heard anything then email them and/or ring them to ask about the progress of your application, as you haven't yet received an email from them with the results. I wouldn't read anything into it at the moment!

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have checked spam, there is nothing there. But previous communication has been via email and it always sends to my inbox, not spam.

There's always a chance that their usual process has been interrupted by all the bank holidays, or someone key to placement recruitment is off sick. You may be on a waitlist and their working their way through applicants. In a worst case scenario, you may have been ghosted - I'm still a little salty about the big pharma company that never even bothered to send a rejection, I'm graduating in July and for all I know I'm still in the running for that '23-'24 placement!

Hopefully you'll have heard back by now? Good luck with all your placement applications - I did a placement year so I know how stressful the waiting period is!
