Regretting uni choices for law

hey guys,
i'm in year 13 and predicted an ABB
I am really regretting my choice of universities, because I had only applied for 1 russel grp which was Queen Marys and they rejected me due to my gcse results not being the best.
If I get an AAB or AAA in results day, is it possible if I can go through clearing and try for russel groups, or would it be risky as my gcse grades are going to put it off?

Id imagine it varies depending on which uni you apply to - eg newcastle is russell group but generally easier to get into than Bristol. Id recommend emailing the admissions teams of universities you're interested in and asking what gcse grades they generally accepted for the specific course you're applying for

Course? What exactly is the problem with your GCSEs?

Select your firm and insurance, then do your bests in the exam.

RG unis did go into Clearing last year. You still have chances. Again, do your bests and get the highest grades. Good luck.

Hi!

You've already had some really good advice already, and I agree.

I would advise to choose an F and I from your current choices, as long as they're both unis you genuinely would be happy with, and then try your very best in the exams.

You could go through clearing if you either did not meet your grades, or you absolutely blew your offers out of the water and did a lot better than you expected - sometimes people go through clearing because they want to try for a uni asking for higher grades.

However you also have another option. If you really were not sure about your current choices, then you could always take a year out to travel/work/volunteer and get some experience and thinking time before reapplying again next cycle, if you think this would be better for you and get you to where you want to be. There is no rush f you need more time to think about where you want to go.

I hope this helps a bit and wishing you all the best over the coming months 🙂

I'm planning to study Law, mostly at one of the London unis.
My gcse grades were not the best, i got mostly between 4s and 6s and therefore Queen Marys said that it didn't meet their requirments.

GCSE entry requirements would be the same even if the course is in clearing.

(Note - edited thread title to reflect question )

Its unlikely that any of the top Unis for Law will need to be in Clearing.

Liverpool might be a possibility, or Sussex, Kent, Reading etc, all of whom have a good reputation for Law - because just 'Russell Group' doesnt guarantee you a job, or mean that you will even like being at that Uni.
