Fees, finance and funding at NTU

Funding can be a tricky area to navigate as you look to begin your studies at university.

We've worked with our Student Money Team to compile these helpful tips as you start to explore Student Finance applications, accommodation options, and plan your finances this year:

Start working on your budget as soon as possible. You can use the Gov.uk Student Finance calculator to check how much you're likely to receive.

If you've applied for Student Finance, check your account regularly, as they may be in touch with updates or request further information.

If your application is being supported by a parent or guardian, ensure that their National Insurance, pension contributions and dependents information is up to date.

The Midlands is the cheapest region to live as a student in England (National Student Money Survey 2024). Our guide to living costs in Nottingham can help you plan your budget ahead of time, and identify any shortfalls.

Throughout your university journey, our Student Money Team is here to help. Money advice appointments can help with maximising income, budgeting and advising on additional funds to which you may be entitled, as well as more complex funding issues.

Our range of Bursaries and Scholarships are also worth considering when planning your finances. Some of these are automatically applied based on Student Finance or course information, however others require separate applications.

It's also worth noting that, in November 2024, Parliament confirmed changes to tuition fees in England and Wales. This means our yearly tuition fee will rise to £9,535 for 2025 entry to the majority of our undergraduate courses. You can find out more about tuition fees here.
