How strict are examiners with quotes?

I take it they aren't too strict but i am just checking incase. I'm studying I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings for English lit and i just want to make sure i won't loose marks if i slightly mess up writing a quote and get a few less important words wrong. Will that matter?

I don't think it matters unless you misquote to the point where the meaning is changed.
