Help - Biomedical engineering or Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering?

Hi, I’m a current year 12 studying maths, biology, physics and English, and I’m stuck between two courses at imperial (biomedical or biomaterials and tissue engineering).

I’ve always known I wanted to do something biotech or biomaths/physics related - I’ve always thought that they intersect quite nicely, but taking Alevel physics has lowk made me hate physics 💔

My main worry isn’t supercurriculars - luckily I’ve done a range that could go either way - or grades or anything like that, but literally which one I’ll enjoy more. I’ve realised that I don’t really want a physics heavily degree - so maybe not biomedical engineering, but I do like the modules offered at 4th year (I reallyyy want to study synthetic biology/genomics at some point) so I’m caught between crossroads. On the other hand, biomaterials and tissue engineering is interesting from the beginning, but I fear that’s it’s too narrow, and doesn’t give me space to explore.

Any advice? I don’t want to be stuck doing a degree I’ll hate

Thanks x

You have rightly grasped the idea. Finding solutions on your own is definitely the smartest thing to do.
It is essential to select a path that interests you and holds your attention for the duration of your university life.
Best wishes for everything! 😀

Here is my 2 cents!
