University of Nottingham 1st yr accom questions

Hi all, hope you’re well.

I’m going to be starting at UoN this September but I’ve been procrastinating applying for accommodation because of some questions I have.

I’ve narrowed it down to either Lincoln hall or Florence booth. I’m wondering:
For Florence booth, is there a library? And what is the parking situation like - I am planning on bringing my car.
For Lincoln hall, there is a parking lot right outside but is it free or how does it work?

It would also be amazing to hear from anyone that’s currently in either of these or even elsewhere to give me an opinion.

Thanks

Hello!

The closest library to Florence Booth Hall is Hallward Library, which is roughly 600-700 metres away. In terms of parking for both places, I suggest you to contact the accommodation team in order to get a more concrete answer. Here is the link: Accommdodation Team: Enquiry Form

All the best,
Abian.

Hey - I'm a first year at UoN atm!

Parking on university park campus isn't very readily available, you have to apply for a parking permit which there is criteria for (this is the website https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/estates/security/carparking/student-parking.aspx) . Each halls on campus has a car park (I'm pretty sure) but they are under the permitting scheme during the week (not weekends and past a certain time in the evening). I'm pretty sure the only halls with parking as part of accom are off campus e.g. broadgate park or riverside point. I'm not sure if any catered accom has on-site parking, if it is it'll be on the 'halls of residence' page on the 'provides' sub-tab. I live off campus and my halls don't provide parking so I park my car on the public road behind but a lot of the roads around Beeston have residents permit parking. So if you are set to live on campus halls you might need to access how much you want your car.

For the library situation all the halls (at least that I know of) have a study space (also in the 'provides' sub-tab), not quite a library but it's a quieter place to get work done in your halls. There is also two big libraries on main campus (UP) that aren't far from either halls you mentioned, George Green is open 24/7 as well if that's what you were worried about!
