Questions will always be character or theme based so make sure you have a list of all of the 'key' themes in each as well as the main characters. Then go through each theme/character and make a mind map of relevant quotations and ideas. This activity will hopefully show you that a lot of the quotations are interchangeable and can be used to answer questions for many different characters and themes - then you don't need to memorise too many! Make sure you aren't just picking quotations but you're considering what they suggest about a character or how they affect Shakespeare/Dickens' presentation of that theme. E.g. "Is this a dagger I see before me?" not only shows us Macbeth's deep anxiety and mental instability after committing murder, but it also reflects how the real and the unreal become indistinguishable, further suggesting that the supernatural has become an unwanted part of him.

Then, I suggest you access some part papers online, there are soooo many to choose from. have a go and writing a response to a question and give your paper to your teacher to read through (maybe even mark if you ask nicely!)
