Accomodation at Swansea

Hi
I am looking at going to Swansea university after my gap year (singleton campus) I have FND which causes paralysis of my legs intermitently so I will need a disabled room so when I experience paralysis I can safely get around my room.
When I was looking at accomodation prises on campus on the open day, disabled rooms were more expensive, I was wondering if anyone knew if this was for non-disabled students occupying a disabled room or if the disabled room is more expensive.
Also any oppinons on disabled students paying extra for disabled rooms
Thank you

If it is necessary for your disability, then you do not pay more than a standard room price. Contact their wellbeing services and also fill in a DSA form.

Hi, thank you for your interest in Swansea Uni!

Swansea is proud of its options within accommodation for students needing accessible rooms. There are many options for adapted and accessible rooms on Singleton campus (further details can be found here - Adapted and Accessible rooms at Swansea ). To my knowledge accessible rooms are not priced differently for students needing them should the application be filled out by the 1st August alongside the details of your requirements for an accessible room.
If you should have any further questions or need a more in-detail run-down of the accessible rooms at Swansea, you can contact the Accommodation team ([email protected]) who will be able to help you further with your move into Swansea accommodation.

Along with the accessible rooms, there is really good year-round support from the wellbeing team ([email protected].), who would be more than happy to help with any questions from prospective students about support and accessibility throughout the academic year!

I hope this has helped and that you are able to move into accommodation at Swansea with ease!
