For the 1-26 exons question, what did u guys write

Inversion and then I started talking about how a different order of exons results in different amino acids being coded for so a non functional protein. But I’m not sure if it’s right 😭

Yea I said something similar - I also talked about how the shape of the protein produced is different etc tbh it felt too less like I was missing something but it does seem right

I did inversion and the mature mRNA transcript is shorter and exons are in a different order so the protein will be shorter and have a different structure. what did you guys put for the myelination one?

Btw I don’t think there was any mention of a stop codon in the question so the mRNA transcript wouldn’t be shorter but idk
Also I liked the myelination one, just talked a lot about how myelin is produced (glial cells) and less myelin means less insulation on axon and slower speed of nerve impulse transmission which is why babies are more uncoordinated than adults etc. it was a decent question you could’ve said a lot about it imo

What essay question did everyone do and how did we feel about it? I had enough time so I did both, and I thought both were decent questions. I’m so glad they decided not to put so much problem solving in this paper

yeah i liked that one! It didn't mention a stop codon, but it said it's transcribed from 1-26, so in that case it would have been shorter as it went like 1,23,24,25,26 iirc

I did the fertility/contraception and it was great!! Never written so much on an ERQ in my life, there's sm to write about for both of those
