Hypocrites

I have had enough! Why is it that every second we are bombarded by news about the palestinians and what is happening in Gaza but we barely hear anything else about other arguably more deadly conflicts in Africa??!! More than 150,000 people have died in the last year in Sudan but we hardly hear any body talk about what has been described by many sources as the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Let's look at what's happening in the Congo where minors (including babies) are getting raped by rebel forces. We don't hear about that in mainstream media. Israel forces have killed more than 45,000 palestinians and that is heartbreaking but it seems as if many people simply brush these other conflicts that are equally or even more despicable.

I remember I used to have the free palestinian movement in my insta bio until one of my Sudanese friends pointed out that palestine isn't the only place that is going through a humanitarian crisis. She asked me if I even knew what was happening in Sudan. I said no and I felt so ignorant.

The point of this post is to educate yourself about what is happening in the world and I also wanted to point out the hypocrisy of mainstream media where they neglect to cover other horrific crises that our occurring right now as I type in African nations.

I knew about the Syrian crisis, what happened to the Ughyrs, the Palestinian crisis but I didn't know what was happening in my own continent? It really changed my perspective on how the world just does not care about what happens in Africa.

Issues in Africa, Sudan, Somalia, Zimbabwe etc aren't a secret, they do get reported just not to the same extent and it isn't really hypocrisy if one simply has more exposure than the other. Israel is also arguably trying to exterminate the Palestinian people rather than 'win' anything which kinda gets more attention.

Sudan in particular has been in a varied state of civil war for the best part of 75 years and I don't think they care too much what the west thinks about it.

You are completely missing the point of my post. First of all your point about Sudan doesn't care about what the West thinks is wrong. They have asked for help from the international community many times. You missed my point again in your first statement. You said issues in Sudan and you went on to list other African countries aren't a secret... Exactly! They are not a secret. Its either they know about it or simply do not care enough because they believe Africans are separate or they are unaware because of what I said lack of coverage in media.

In the interest of balance, Iran/Hamas is actually trying to exterminate Israel rather than 'win' anything. It is their explicit objective.
