Student Finance & ILR

Hello I am year 13 student and I have lived in the UK for 4 years, I will be get ting my ILR by August 2026. I have deferred my application so that I would resume by September 2026.
My question is do I apply for student finance before I get my ILR or after I have gotten.

Hi there,

You can apply before you get your Indefinite Leave, yes - once you get this you can provide proof to us (like your share code) as soon as you get it.

For courses that start next September you'll make a 26/27 application: these will open next year in Spring.
