UON accomodation

I have no clue what accom to choose for first year, looking at catered accoms or eventually if self catered then broadgate. However I wanted to know which is best from a social perspective and which catered halls have the best rooms / best social life ?

hi! i stayed in catered halls at uon and found it a lot earlier to make friends compared to the non catered halls (based on what my friends there tell me). the catered halls give you a space to sit down and chat to peers multiple times a day bc it’s the only meals get, therefore everyone is bound to start talking to eachother. it was also very sociable bc it was like each hall was its own small community due to everyone knowing eachother. my friends in non catered halls say they found it hard as everyone had different meal times and it didn’t align. due to people not seeing eachother often it was difficult to speak to peers in their flat and instead made friends with people in societies and their courses.
