Alevel Geography NEA predicted marks help

So, I got 36/60 as my predicted NEA mark for AQA A-Level Geography. My teacher said using last year's grade boundaries, I would get a B just about (just on the NEA), as 60% is a B, and a C is 49%. I'm wondering if I could still get an A overall with the exams included, or is it not possible? I know grade boundaries change but my teachers say they are quite accurate with the marks, and I'll probably stay at 36 marks.

You can defiantly still get an A, the NEA is only worth 20% js need to get a mid/high A to secure it

Ah OK thank you! Just need to not procrastinate 😬

Adding on to what Mialim has said,
AQA A-level Geography can be broken down into:
-Paper 1=120 marks (40%)
-Paper 2=120 marks (40%)
-NEA: 60 marks (20%)

SO...What does this mean if you want an A? 🤔
So I took a look at, AQA A LEVEL GRADE BOUNDARIES FOR JUNE 2024 AQA GEO.... (https://filestore.aqa.org.uk/over/stat_pdf/AQA-A-LEVEL-GDE-BDY-JUN-2024.PDF),

which stated the recent boundaries for an A was (SUBJECT TO YEARLY CHANGE!!!):
A=211/300, Which is about 70.3%. 😮*💨

So If your wondering how much better you need to do in paper 1 and 2 to achieve last year's score of 211 for an A, then consider the differently weighed components like in the image below.

This means you must average 73% on Papers 1 & 2 (Together worth 80% of the A-level) to hit the previous years A-boundary, considering the score you got for your NEA, so this definitely isn't the end of the world! 😤
But as you know, boundaries can change so always aim higher. 😖
This is definitely achievable through some sweat and tears, cheering you on and good luck!😁

Wow 😮 thank you so much! I've just got to get my case studies and the facts memorised, and hopefully, that should boost my grades up!

I'm doing Ba product design. Currently, I'm deciding between MMU or Northumbria uni. It's so difficult to decide, and if I go to MMU, my parents want me to live at home and commute, which means I'll be attempting to wake up at 6am to get a bus or train 😔. What about you?

Ooo, that sounds interesting! Will the course be a mixture of human and physical or a more human side if it's econ?

Good luck with getting the offer! I hope u get it, and there's normally multiple offers holders and some unis take forever to get back, so who knows 🤷*♀️🤞

Thats a good mindset to have Mialim! Trust me, it's normal to feel the weight of uni around this time, but I'm glad you realise the A-levels should be your foremost priority.
Just a word of caution though, If your 100% intend on going to uni next year, then make sure you have your accommodation and student finance sorted, the rest can wait for the summer.
But worst-case scenario, lets say you forget 😥,etc, really the only important thing is your A level grades, as you can always apply to university next year.
A gap year looks a lot better than a resit or having to go to a uni you didn't want to due to grade requirements.

If your worried about the age gap this may cause, as a first-year student myself, I applied directly out of sixth form (no gap year), and I'm the youngest in my class by nearly 2 years!😨 The majority of students take a foundational year, switch courses once, or take a gap year.
So please don't worry about university, and focus on your grades, the better you do, trust me the better the summer will feel! 😄

Yeah, I'm feeling like I'm leaning more towards mmu now so I feel less stressed and I'm on study leave now so I can focus on revision
