A-level help

I’m in year 11 and will be going to sixth form in September and was wondering if economics is good as I have chosen it but am unsure on whether it is an interesting subject choice

Hi @Lynden Sarbutts

I am doing business management at uni however, we have just completed an economics module. I found it to be quite interesting! It is all about the choices that people make about how to consume the limited and scarce resources that are available to us.

It definitely gives you a different perspective when thinking about purchasing something, you start to think about the wider impact on the world from making that purchase. I think A-level economics will be an interesting subject to take and if you are into business related things and topics then you will enjoy it!

Let me know of you have any more questions about economics and I will try my best to answer. Good luck with your exams! and I hope you enjoy sixth form.

Thanks, Matt 🙂

Hi there @Lynden Sarbutts

Great to hear you're thinking ahead for sixth form!

I did Economics at A-level before moving into a media-based degree, and it turned out to be a really useful subject. It helps you understand how the world works from money and business to government decisions and builds valuable skills like problem-solving and critical thinking.

Even if you’re not sure about it now, I wouldn't dismiss it before giving it a good think it’s more interesting and relevant than it might seem at first!

Best of luck,
