Kingston or Brunel

Well I just got rejected by UAL and now I’m deciding on whether I should go Kingston to study Product and furniture design or study industrial design. Right now I’m struggling to choose because I don’t know which uni is “better” in terms of teaching quality, career and experience. Don’t want to be rude but which uni has more Asians I like to stay within my Asian community.

Hi @MrWang

Sorry to hear you didn't get the offer you were hoping for, but lovely to hear you are considering Kingston!

I don't personally study product design here but I am part of Kingston School of Art so I can give you some insight as to what it is like.

Kingston is a very diverse university with students from all over the world, you will be able to find a community.

You will be based at Knights Park, which has a collaborative atmosphere there is a river running alongside the campus which creates a nice outdoor social space, as well as the student bar being based there and a great library. There are also a range of great workshops from metal work, wood work, ceramics and photography and film studios that any student can use no matter what they study.

I personally really enjoy studying here and finding the teaching is great. My lectures have lots of experience in the industry an therefore set relevant briefs.

I would recommend coming to an open day if you can. It is a great chance to get a feel for the university as to what it might be like to live and study there, see the facilities and speak to current students and lectures. There are even virtual open days. Open Days and events | Kingston University London
