I go to kings - if you have any specific questions ask away  I don’t do pharmacy but can answer about the campus

I got my Kcl offer too today and it’s contextual, I am debating Kcl and reading due to commute distance.

Go to Nottingham. It's 6th in the UK for Pharmacy, according to Edurank, and KCL is just 21st.
As you say, the Nottingham campus looks very loveable.
Boots the Chemist originated in Nottingham, just saying.
The Complete University Guide shows that average entry grades for the subject are 68% at Nottingham, 66% at KCL. Considering how popular London can be, particularly with international students, this shows me that Nottingham understandably has little difficulty attracting people for this course. Look how recent graduates feel too - according to them, outcomes are higher at Nottingham for this subject. KCL currently has a very good research quality rating, to be fair (91%) but Nottingham is nearly the same (88%) so that's no meaningful difference affecting undergraduate level.

Ive firmed Nottingham over KCL. I was in the exact same situation as u. Nottingham is top 2 for Pharamcy in the UK after UCL. Its hard to find its top 2 on the internet because its not explicitly shown, but if you do your research then you will finds notts being top 2 and KCL being top 4 for pharmacy in the UK. The only reason why you would choose KCL is because it is slightly ranked higher than Nottingham overall, but considering all the negatives of being in London, I would say Nottingham wins, hence why I firmed Nottingham. They both Russell group so it doesn't matter at the end of the day. UCL>NOTTS>BATH>KCL- Ranked for Pharm. Hope this helps.

But KCL is a better university overall. like it’s 34th world wide while nottingham is 136. do you think it really matters?

Employers generally do not care about any ranking systems, particularly as there are now 5 different ones that I know of and each has their own way of ranking a uni. For certain degrees there are target unis but for degrees like Pharmacy and Medicine the uni you went to is immaterial. Employers really don't care. Just go to the university where you can see yourself being happy there.

If it was me personally I would be looking at Nottingham as I do prefer a proper campus rather than one that is spread all over the city. Also, unless you have very rich parents how will you cope with the additional cost of everything in London?

Ok so firstly the social life is very different to at other universities. It’s a majority international uni and with the tuition fees that brings it means people there are usually more well off, and often social activities will be a bit more expensive. Obviously I couldn’t afford that haha and I found my own group but it isn’t your typical student city. There isn’t a designated area for students in London, and the campuses are very spread across London so it won’t have the same feel as other unis. I decided that didn’t matter because of the reputation of my course and the connections I would make given that it is war studies and most political thinkers are in London - but I think for pharmacy maybe that wouldn’t be as important? I will be honest Waterloo is a dead campus. It’s not very big and nothing really goes on there socially, as it’s mostly a secondary campus for people that largely have classes at guys or strand. The good news is though that strand is about a ten minute walk and guys not far either. Guys is the medical sciences campus so you’d probably enjoy there the most. It’s lovely, by London Bridge, an actual campus with green space and it has a bar and a cafe. When I started uni the bar was great, I think maybe more people go to Dover castle which is also nearby just off campus. In terms of competitive that is so hard to say given that I don’t do pharmacy. For me, yes. People that are paying higher fees are bound to take uni very seriously given the stakes, but equally there are people who are more child. You just have to find your people. In terms of ranking, honestly they are both great unis and once you get to a Russell group level it doesn’t matter. For example, why does it matter that Nottingham is lower ranking worldwide? Think about the importance to your future career etc. I didn’t know what my career would be, but pharmacy sounds pretty straightforward in terms of career paths so I’d think about that. Any other questions happy to answer!

Overall, according to Edurank, KCL is 7th in the UK, 11th in Europe, 70th worldwide.
Nottingham is 12th in the UK, 32nd in Europe, 127th worldwide.

Here's why I think it doesn't matter. It's already relatively close, far closer than the difference between them for Pharmacy, for which Nottingham is ranked better.

Nottingham is right up there with the best. And if having a full university experience matters most to you, it will likely better provide for that imo. The Nottingham campus is regarded as one of the, or the, finest campuses in the country.
Nottingham University is globally known too. They even have campuses in Malaysia and China. And yet they've never majorly diluted being a UK university. 77.4% of Nottingham University students in the UK are from the UK. At KCL, only 61% are. International students like studying in the UK, of course. They also love the idea of studying in London more than I think UK students do, on average. But it's also an easy way for universities to make money from international fees.

And I'll say it again - for Pharmacy, Nottingham are more highly ranked. The cherry on the cake is they happen to actually have higher entry standards than KCL for this, which can be unusual because of all those internationals wanting to be in London.

And student satisfaction for Pharmacy is 79% at Nottingham, 73% at KCL. For the university as a whole, it's 76% at Nottingham, 74% at KCL.

For pharmacy it literally does not matter. Russel group or not you’re gonna become a pharmacist regardless. In terms of performance I don’t know but I know uni of Bath was the best and that is not a Russel group

Here's why I think it doesn't matter. It's already relatively close, far closer than the difference between them for Pharmacy, for which Nottingham is ranked better. Overall, LSE is 16th in the UK, according to Edurank. Some people love LSE, some don't, some (even those who study there) are indifferent. But, instinctively, I have a feeling that LSE is no better than about 16th for undergraduates, particularly home students who are in a minority there. It's small and fewer of its staff do research than some other universities.

I checked a few weeks ago and KCL actually has more international students - 56% I believe. You make some really good points honestly I agree with you

Hello @tgyasi!

Congratulations on your offers!

In my opinion, it would be ideal for you if you could also visit Kcl so that you can compare both!

Nonetheless, Nottingham would obviously be a great fit based on your first impressions. Make sure that you can control as many variables as possible before you make a decision. i.e., accommodation, transport links, cost of living.

Feel free to ask us if you have any further questions!

All the best,
Abián.
