ucas extra for law

I’m thinking of applying through ucas extra once I hear back from the last uni I’m waiting for (might be a rejection with how long the wait has been). Wondered what people thought of these unis for law and which one is the best option? Predicted A*A*A, lnat 29.

- manchester
- glasgow (common law, 4 year degree with a structure I don’t completely understand)
- qmul (although this is law with business, wondered if it’s possible to convert from law with business to just law once I enroll?)
- cardiff
- newcastle
- birmingham

Would appreciate any thoughts on the city, university campus, support available, career prospects and insight into quality of teaching. Thank you!
You need to decline all your offers to be eligible for Extra. It is quite risky.

Some of the unis you listed were in Clearing last year. There is fair chance for Clearing jn this year as well. youll these unis in your mind are good unis. The unis are competitive and Law is also competitive.

Perhaps you could firm an offer, do your best in exam and aim for Clearing on Results Day. With an offer in hand would probably help calming you down while looking for a better option.

Good luck.

I was a bit too ambitious this year and have been rejected from 4/5 of my uni choices (didn’t apply to a safe school which was a poor decision). I am waiting for one more to respond (high chance of rejection) so that’s why I am highly likely going to apply through extra - sorry that wasn’t very clear in my original post.

Your target inis are good. You may also consider Nottingham if it is still open to applications. It would be very unlikely that Queen Mary allow switching to pure law after admission. The "law and", "law with" courses are less competitive and relatively harder to fill.

All you 5 choices are LNAT unis? LNAT unis are always heavily oversubscribed, the London unis in particular. Applicants are often rejected for no reason (application not as strong). Don't look back. Good luck.

yes my 5 choices were all lnat ones. The ones I have listed are currently available in extra. Nottingham isn’t so that’s why I haven’t listed it.

What unis did you apply to?
cambridge - rejected post interview
durham + ucl - rejected bc of lnat essay
lse + kcl - no specific reason, just that my application wasn't ‘competitive’ enough
ended up applying through ucas extra for qmul
