Law with French law as a French student

Hi everyone,
I’m a bit stressed and I was hoping someone could help. I’ve applied for Law with French Law at the University of Birmingham. I received a contextual offer of AAA, but I’m not sure I’ll get the required grades. I’m currently predicted slightly below that, and I’m worried about what will happen if I end up with AAB.

Does anyone know if Birmingham is flexible with offers, especially for contextual applicants? I really want to go there, but I’m not sure if they’ll still accept me if I miss the offer by one grade.

Congratulations to your offer. Birmingham has not been particularly strict on grades.

Easier said than done, it's not time to worry, focus at your exam. Good luck.

Hi there. First off, take a deep breath; you’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s great that you’re thinking ahead. The university does show flexibility, especially for contextual offer holders. While your current offer is AAA, if you narrowly miss it (say, by achieving AAB), there is a realistic chance you could still be accepted, though it’s not guaranteed. On Results Day, the admissions team usually reviews applicants who have just missed their offers, taking into account the full context of each application. This includes your personal statement, reference, and any contextual information, as well as how competitive the course is that year.

In the meantime, it’s important to keep working hard, as every grade really does make a difference. If you’re feeling uncertain, it’s also wise to have a strong insurance choice in place just in case. Closer to Results Day, you might consider reaching out to the admissions team for advice. They’re typically understanding and happy to help.

Exactly!

Unis get A-Level results some time (2 or 3 days?) before Results Day and there is sufficient time for them to assess all the near miss cases. So it maybe good news to those missing the grade who do got strict rejection on Results Day.

Put your mind back to your exam. Good luck.
