A level question

I wanted to double check something.

I did a year of AS levels, passed biology but got a low grade and got a grade I was happy with in music

So I decided to go to a different college and do the AS course in biology as well as geography and RS and left music as I didn't want to do A2 level or redo the AS course

I'm now doing the second year of geography, RS, and biology so I will end up with 3 A levels in RS, geography and biology plus an AS in music from my last college

My question is, would I also have an AS in biology from my old college or not? I.e would I have 3 A levels plus 1 AS level or 2 AS levels

I hope this makes sense, it's been difficult to explain.

Your question does make sense, and you're not alone in finding the qualification system a bit confusing! 😅
From my understanding, I believe:
If you completed the AS Biology course at your first college, sat the exam, and got a grade (even if it was low), then yes—you do technically have an AS Level in Biology from that year.👍️
Now that you're retaking AS Biology and continuing it to full A Level at your new college, that new grade will override the original AS result in terms of your final A Level Biology grade. However, the original AS qualification still exists separately in your academic record unless the exam board or your college specifically withdrew the entry (which is quite rare).

So, in summary:

You will have 3 full A Levels: RS, Geography, and Biology.

You will also have 2 AS Levels: one in Music and one in Biology (from the first attempt).

Hope this helped,😁
But I reccomend booking an appointment with a careers counsellor if you're still unsure, as most colleges do provide this service.
