Should I get circumcised to cure phimosis (very tight foreskin).

Hey guys, I'm a 17 year old boy with phimosis which means that I can't pull my foreskin back over the head of my penis. I've had phimosis all my life, so this is a lifelong problem that I've had, and I'd like to fix this problem before I go to university this year for obvious reasons.

I was wondering if people who are circumcised can share their experiences, and what I should do.

Hey, it sounds like you want to get it sorted before university, which is totally understandable. It's great that you're thinking about your health.
Phimosis means that the foreskin is too tight to retract the glans. This is quite common in younger children and most of the time it will go away on its own. As you are 17, it may not resolve itself without a little help.
Here are some ways to deal with it:
-Steroid creams: The doctor may recommend a cream that softens the skin, which often helps to loosen things up, making it easier to pull the foreskin back over time.
-Stretching: Your doctor may be able to show you some simple stretching exercises. Just follow the instructions carefully to avoid causing pain.
-Preputioplasty: This operation widens the foreskin but does not remove it completely. It is less invasive than circumcision.
-Circumcision: This is the complete removal of the foreskin. This cures phimosis permanently. You should see a urologist in your area. They can assess your phimosis and tell you what treatments are appropriate. They will also explain what you can expect from each treatment.
-A doctor is your best option. They will know how to deal with this problem before you start university.
You'll be fine!
Here is my 2 cents!

Hi there. By all means try steroid creams but more often than not they don’t work or take ages and ages to produce results. I would recommend that you get circumcised as soon as possible. Your problem will then be solved instantly and permanently. From my experience girls love circumcised penises. I am very happy being circumcised and so are our two sons (aged 22 and 18).
