Hiya,

I am currently a 3rd Year Computer Science and AI student from the University of Sheffield. There is a large international community at the university who ensure to support students when settling in and run lots of events throughout the year. The most memorable one is called ICE which is International Cultural Evening where societies compete with their dances from their culture.

In regards to computer science itself, there are a wide range of modules that consolidate different topics - like data driven computing, theory of computer science and automata. You gets hands on experience through modules where you may have to programme robots to navigate through mazes. There is also several modules that provide with experiences that are similar to industry by partaking in group projects with a client and the end result is producing some software for them. There is also an optional year in industry you can take as well where the university can help refine your CV and cover letter and direct you to companies that offer a placement for 1 year.

Personally, I have really enjoyed it at Sheffield so far and love the course and city.

I hope that helps and let me know if you have anymore specific questions!
