Can I wear an ECG (Electrocardiogram/Heart Monitor) during a GCSE exam?

Following an issue with a surgery in February this year, I am required to wear an ECG (Heart Monitor) for 72 hours. The appointment is on Friday, meaning I will have to wear it over the weekend and also on Monday, which I have 2 GCSE exams on. I know that no electronic devices are permitted during GCSE exams but I can’t reschedule the ECG as it has taken me 6 months to receive the appointment. The school has been made aware but we haven’t received a response back yet.

Is there anyone who has been in a similar position to me or an examiner who can tell me? Thank you very much. 😊

I'm not either of those things but I recommend trying to speak to the appropriate person face-to-face about it if you haven't recieved a response yet. Your school/centre should be able to make the appropriate arrangements for you so that you can wear the ECG. If you require further help maybe check out the JCQ website as they may have information about access arrangements. Unless the device would somehow disrupt other candidates in the exam hall I don't think you will have an issue. If the device could disrupt other candidates they will probably just have you sit the exam in a different room under supervision.

Also not qualified to provide a concrete answer but I'd be very surprised if a medical device wasn't permitted in an exam. They won't ask the diabetics with pumps and continuous monitoring to remove their devices because they're necessary.
