Business btec finance unit 3 exam

I need a quick response as my exams are coming up soon. Basically, I took my developing a marketing campaign unit 2 exam back in January, but there was an issue, and I was falsely accused of malpractice. I appealed, but nothing came of it. My teacher said I can either resit the exam next week or they'll consider my performance for the entire year. I'm leaning towards resitting the exam.
I also have my finance exam the week after, and I'm really worried that I'm going to fail. My teacher mentioned that if we fail Unit 3, we cant resit it and this we can't continue with this course but I'm unsure if this is true, please could you let me know if this is false?.
I'm most stressed about this because I don't know where l'll go if I fail and I have a chance l'm going to fail unfortunately, and I really want to achieve DDD or DDM.
Lastly, I'm wondering if my situation will put me at a disadvantage when applying to university. I really need some guidance as l'm feeling overwhelmed.

Currently in my second yr of this course and u should be fine, all the unis I have applied to are asking for DDM. Some DMM but low ranked unis. As for unit 3, tbh this is all about what ur good at cuz half of the paper is maths and the other half is more based on common sense and applying it to the scenario given. Good luck tho

Oh may I mention, many people I knew didn’t even revise for unit 3 exams and still got a merit cuz some questions are jst common sense and can be applied to our daily life. So don’t stress, you’ll be okay

Thank you so much for replying I’ve been really stressed about this. I just wanted to mention that I might need to resit my marketing exam, along side with finance. Do you think i should prioritise exam over the other and which one? i know I can’t pass both as I only have a week so I need to give up one. Also, is it true my college could kick students out if they fail? I checked on Pearson it says you can resit?

Prioritise finance cuz it’s more likely to give u a higher grade cuz it notes that can actually be learned and remembered to apply in the exam, whereas marketing you don’t even know the question and the part A is given before, I mean there’s nthg to revise in marketing tbh just plan the layout of how the report and the rest should be written (sorry I don’t remember the paper anymore)

Majority of my yr including me got merit in marketing, ur likely to get pass or merit if you complete all the things needed so if your good at time management ur good, just make sure not waffle a lot in the beginning rather click off the main points and move on to give urself enough time.

As for finance, many got distinction cuz grade boundaries r more reasonable since its 2 parts and if you revise the content especially formulas and the meanings of stuff, you’ll be good since u just apply this knowledge to the scenario usually they are related to us e.g. mine last yr was about a girl who was trying to pick the best student account for uni so ya don’t stress its common sense. As long as in at least one of the sections in the finance paper ur fine to be passing both those exams.

As for getting kicked out of the exams, my tutor recently asked us as second years if we want to resit marketing and finance so idk why ur teacher said yll be kicked out. I know there’s a certain amount of papers u can resit I think, unless ur coursework is incomplete / fail then maybe u may be in risk of getting kicked out if u fail the exams but idk cuz I haven’t heard of this. Maybe ask the head of business rather than ur teacher cuz that sounds stupid, it’s never that deep😭

LOL SORRY ITS SO LONG

omg that’s a lot thank you so much 😭😭I’m dreading resitting marketing again since I’ve already did it back in January and I falsely accused of malpractice so I need to resit it now and hopefully it’s not my last cos ik I’m gonna get a pass or a merit if im suuuppper lucky.

Im scared for finance as I literally know nothing and my college just started doing mock papers now, 2 weeks before the exam which is so stupid. And also wdym for the ‘best student account for uni’ is that like supposed to be one of the big markers ? (I’m not familiar with the exam papers) finance seems so hard, maybe I can do the maths part but learning like the disadvantages, disadvantages, why, how ect is to much cos I need to learn that for everything and I might need to learn in detail imagine if I get a big marker on that. I’m going to start revising finance now and with the time frame (2 weeks) where do you think I should start from? I’m clueless right now so is there any topics you recommend to learn? Like YouTubers, websites and so on? Thank you
and sorry this is so long as well lolll

Thank you I’ll check it out as I’m revising for it right now. Do you think I have time to get a merit? I ideally want distinction but I don’t think there’s enough time because I’m not good at maths and the other non maths related I’m clueless at that..

Yes there’s time for a merit, my friend didn’t do the maths bit of the paper or revise cause she was dealing with family issues and was able to secure a merit (I’m not recommending you to do this but don’t worry you’ll be okay)

As for YouTube videos maybe try them then https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLftmziinjwVSLZV8PhWDDfjYQXM-5di5Y&si=uwrRRw0Vi_nPEuo8

The best student account is one of the current accounts, yll come across it when revising. During 12 markers you usually write advantages and disadvantages while applying it to the scenario.

Start from the beginning of the book link I gave you above and checklist stuff you think yll be fine with and don’t require in detail revision cuz some stuff is quiet obvious is the beginning like “why should a person avoid debt”

And personally I’m pretty sure it’s easier to get more marks on the non - maths bit part so the personal finance. It would be best if you look at both rather not just focus on business finance (maths bit) U have 2 weeks, that’s plenty of time cuz it’s not long, I did my revision notes in 2 sections within 2 days after reading that whole book and making notes side by it. The rest of the time I spent revising those notes, you can make tables, spider diagram or whatever u like. How did you not to do unit 3 in Jan when u did unit 2

I got a pass, barely anyone got a merit for that cuz the grade boundaries were quite high since the question was easy.
