The Student Room Group

NIN Issues.

In my student finance application, I've submitted and my application has been approved. I now need to confirm all details. I've provided identity evidence and entered my bank account details, and now only have to wait on my uni to enrol me (which will occur after A Level results), and enter my National Insurance Number, which is where I've had my issue.
I am confident that, when asked to optionally fill in my NIN at the start of the finance application process, I did so, and yet I'm being asked for it now. Whenever I enter my NIN at this stage, I am told that there's a problem and that "You've entered a National Insurance number that matches one we already have on our system". It's true that I did enter my NIN earlier in the process, but that was on the very same account, and this is the very first time I've applied for student loans.
I then select the option to upload evidence of my NIN, but when I try to, I am unable to select the "Continue" button, and therefore am unable to upload the evidence.
I've seen someone else on here have the exact same issue, but they didn't get a helpful reply and that was over a month ago, so I'm hoping someone can help out.

Hi JakeBodenhamer,

There is currently a known issue where it shows as either incomplete or already on the system on some account but is fine on our system and not affecting payments.

It would however be best to start a live chat on your account or call so that this can be double checked for you to ensure it is not affecting payments moving forward.
