Hi, I am doing my GCSEs this year aswell and I just want to say that many schools give students a model answer to memorise and that answer is adaptable to EVERY question. Mine is about a priest who wakes up from the grave and the journey he takes to go to heaven or hell and it is actually quite interesting.

adaptability:write a story about an animal: scary Animal description and creeping behind priest killing him, priest wakes up, he is in a grave, he meets the animal in mysterious land where his grave is with decrepit wooden signs pointing towards hell everywhere and then my normal storyline
write a story about a journey: literally my model answer
and so much more...
ALL IM SAYING IS TO BE BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY, if you know you have good writing skills which you probably might have based on ur writing, then you don't need to worry.all the best for your GCSEs

which school do you go BTW?

Sorry, I want side tracked, but anyways, it is best to stick to variety of sentence and paragraph lengths. insert 1 or 2 one word or one sentence paragraphs somewhere relevant

variety of language features

make sure the plot flows and dont write it like in 1st paragraph, the person is in a house and then in 2nd paragraph, she suddenly teleports to a school.

IMPORTANT: EXAMINERS HATE THE WORD "SUDDENLY" OR ANYTHING SIMILAR BECAUSE IT SHOWS IT DOESNT FLOW AND YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT FLOW SO YOU ARE USING A FILLER.
