LSE GCSE requirements

I know on the LSE website it says that for GCSES you are expected to have majority A's (7s) and A*s (8s-9s), however this year I have seen a few people get rejected on the basis of GCSES and I just wondered if 3A*s and 7 As would be ok for applying? Thanks.

What GCSE grades did the "few people [who got] rejected on the basis of GCSES" have?

Are the A*s 8s or 9s? and I assume the As are 7s? Good results but may not be strong enough for the more competitive courses at LSE?

Would you say the management course at LSE is competitive?

Personally I'd say that yes it is competitive but less so than Econ, PPE, Law etc. Your PS could well be key to an offer, I was rejected because of my PS. (Pol & Econ) My stats were, predicted A*A*A* GCSEs 99988887776

Have a look here, according to this 30% were offered a place for Management which for LSE is very good. If it were me I would apply with an open mind as I did for my course
