AQA a level English language

For paper 2 last question - opinion article… how do I prepare for that. Like is there a structure I should follow?? Etc etc.. - any advice for this and I’d be grateful!

Hi, im about to take paper 2 and ive been told do write a brief sentence saying “article aimed at readers of the telegraph” then to do genre conventions as thats whats specified! Apparently then its easy to start with an anecdote and apply what you are writing about to a real life (fake) scenario… remember your theorists.

There is Ao2 on the mark scheme which means you will be marked on theorists, so if your opinion article is on gender for example, you will need to add a theorist to back up your opinion. I would say in this case “according to lakoff she also agrees women’s language is put at a deficit, her assumptions state…” and just include some parts you already know about the theory you would have studied (could be any relating to that topic whatever you can fit in) you dont need a lot but its important just to put some in and its easier to do so to back up your own opinion!!! If you can access some top grade opinion articles you could find some more examples on how they include some theory but it always is very brief
