Hi there!

It's good to hear that you are having fun at Uni so far! University is a great time to meet lots of people and have fun. I thought I could share some things that I really enjoyed doing at university in case you wanted any more ideas on ways to have fun and meet some new people!

Join a society. These are great ways of meeting some new people and doing something fun so if you haven't already, I really recommend doing this. See if you can find any that you are interested in and think about joining one next year!

See if there are any groups or sports teams nearby that you can join as these are really fun ways of meeting people while trying something new.

See if your SU puts any events on as they are often fun and you can try something new again. It's worth having a look!

Things I have enjoyed at uni are doing things in my house, such as games nights, film nights and cooking nights so maybe do some of these too!

I hope you continue to enjoy university 🙂

Hi folks,

Yes overall I'd agree that uni life is good! But it can only be what you make of it, so make sure you avoid the traps of setting high expectations of yourself, putting too much pressure on yourself and focussing too much on the work side and not enough on other aspects of uni, such as clubs, societies, exploring the city, seeing friends and working part-time.

And if ever you go through a time when uni life is not so good, such as a difficult study period or a time when you are going through difficult times, then just remember that this is normal and that these things never last! Remember to use all the resources available to you such as your personal tutor, your uni's wellbeing service, friends and family to keep yourself on track and afloat 🙂

Wishing you luck for the rest of the year!

Hi there,

I'm glad to hear university life is going well for you!

University is a great time to meet new people, push yourself out of your comfort zone, excel academically, and grow as a person! I loved my time at Chester, and found that I've really grown as a person since my first day.

However, university life can only be what you make of it. If you don't get involved, don't try, and are unwilling to participate, it very likely will not be the best it can be. So, my best advice is to get involved! I love to volunteer, and I also found part-time work, joined community activities, made lifelong friends, and tried my hardest in my classes. Each of these activities truly enriched my university experience, and I'd love to have been involved in more if I could.

Try searching your university's website for information about activities, sports, and societies. Look for local activities with a quick search. Social media is super useful for finding things to get involved in too!

Best of luck for the rest of the year! 🙂

Hey there 😃

I’d say university can be an incredible journey if you approach it with intention and make choices aligned with your values, goals, and dreams. It all starts with picking the right place, exploring the opportunities it offers, and then actively shaping your experience based on what you want your uni life to look like.

It’s a personal path. For me, the focus was on both personal and professional growth. I got involved with the careers and global teams, went on international trips, completed trainings and internships. All of which helped me develop and feel fulfilled. But your priorities might be completely different. maybe it's creativity, activism, sports, social life, or academic excellence. That’s why taking time to reflect before making any big decisions is so important.

If you're thinking about university, know that with the right research and a clear sense of what matters most to you, your time there can be genuinely life-changing 🌟

I hope it will be helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Take care,
