Cramming GCSES - Good grades??

In honour of GCSEs being in like a week and as someone who's done extremely little revision i was wondering if anyone here managed to cram all their gcses and still end up with amazing grades (7s 8s or 9s) and if there is any, was there any method or tricks you used to cram efficiently?

Can't say much for most subjects but I crammed for history and eng lit (got 8 and 7 respectively). What worked best for me was to find someone to help (ideally someone who knows the subject, but if not just give them your notes to work off or find some online), let them pick a topic and then you just yap about whatever you can remember about that topic. Then they ask questions about anything you missed. Repeat for as many topics as you have time for, or until you get bored.

Otherwise, past papers if possible. As many as you can squeeze in without burning yourself out.

Hey @edrls,

Some subjects are easier to learn in a shorter period of time than others; for example, writing a good GCSE English Literature essay is certainly possible if you read the chosen text once or twice, learn the key themes and memorise some quotations. Other, more content-heavy subjects - such as Chemistry or History - might be a bit more difficult to learn in a short period of time.

If you only have a limited amount of time left and haven't completed as much revision as you would like, I would recommend starting off the revision for each subject by attempting a past paper. This way, you'll have a good idea of what you already know from class and what you'll need to brush up on over the next week or so; you might not get a fantastic score on your first past paper, but it's a good way to test your overall knowledge and highlight areas to improve.

Best of luck with your GCSE exams!
