Warwick Uni Accomodation

Hi my DD is a potential student for Computer Science for 2025/26, Wondering if any current students or parents could guide us on the best ensuite rooms closest to campus and shops etc, like to get your views on pros and cons. Thank you.

Hi I'm not at Warwick yet (joining in September) but was given a map at the offer holder day and the ensuites closest to central campus are Jack Martin, Authur Vick, and Bluebell. There's Westwood which is closer to the Cannon Park Shopping Centre (where there is a Tesco and an Aldi) but it's further away from campus. You can find previews of the rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and social spaces on the Warwick website https://warwick.ac.uk/services/accommodation/students/residences/. When applying for accomodation they ask you to choose 3 hobbies/interests, whether you'd prefer a single gender area, and ask what time you usually sleep/wake up so they can try and match you with people you'd get along with. I'd also recommend watching videos on youtube of students doing accommodation tours so maybe that will help you see the pros and cons each. Hope this helps a bit

Hi! That’s great to hear Computer Science is a strong choice for 2025/26!
For ensuite accommodations near campus and shops, many students recommend places like:

University Halls (e.g., Victoria Hall, Peel Park Quarter, or New Adelphi if it’s Salford) usually close to classes and safer.

Private accommodations like Unite Students, iQ, or Student Roost they often have ensuite rooms with great facilities and are walkable to shops and transport.

Pros: Privacy, no waiting for bathrooms, secure, near classes.

Cons: Slightly more expensive than shared bathrooms, may have limited social spaces depending on the building.

It’s also a good idea to visit accommodation pages on university websites, or even Reddit threads and student forums to see real experiences.

Thanks, is this for Warwick pls ?

Lakeside, Sherbourne, Heronbank are generally good as far as I know, (and are the cheaper en suite rooms depending on how much that matters). They are at the south end of the campus so while they're not really far from the university, they are at the opposite end to the computing department.

The Rootes grocery store (slightly more expensive) is at the centre of campus and Tesco is out to the North. Again, Tesco isn't particularly far away, but I'd call it ~15 minutes walking from Lakeside.
Loosely in order of North to South/closest to the CS department, Arthur Vick, Jack Martin, Bluebell, Cryfield apartments and townhouses are on central campus so they're close to Rootes, but also not wildly far from Tesco or the CS department.

Depending on what you count as an en suite, there is also Claycroft (where one bathroom is shared between two people) which is cheaper and closer to both the department and Tesco.

I've assumed that by shops you mean for groceries. On central campus, it's only Rootes grocery store, Tesco is part of Cannon park so there are more shops (off the top of my head, Boots, ALDI, and few other discount/food shops), but anything slightly specialised one would need to go to Coventry or Leamington.
